Spider-Man has so many foes including; Dr Octopus, Kingpin, Mysterio, Sandman, Vulture and the list goes on…. But, my favourite might have to be The Green Goblin. Originally created by Steve Ditko & Stan Lee and first appearing in comic books in July 1964 in The Amazing Spider-Man #14. I remember one of my favourite Spider-Man covers as a young boy was my Amazing Spider-Man #40 which was titled ‘The END of The GREEN GOBLIN’. The stunning vibrant colours of the cover that brought the artwork alive was still strong even though the comic book was already 15 years old at the time. It was the cover art that drew me in and enticed me to read the comic. It’s a proper John Romita classic cover which served it’s purpose perfectly which is why it still stands out today! Now, you might think I’m mad, but I loved this comic cover so much I had it framed as you can see here:
A bit over the top for some people perhaps but I love it…
Now, staying on the Green Goblin theme with a little bit of Spider-Gwen thrown in for good measure, take a look at the two connecting comics created by Tyler kirkham. These are the Amazing Spider-Man #47 limited edition variant connecting comic books which we have had signed by Tyler and framed professionally so that they can be enjoyed as the artist intended. Lets face it, some comic books are for reading but some are definitely best enjoyed for their cover art such as these.
